Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about testing and compliance
These are the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, call or text (980) 336-9119 — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
General
That depends on whether your role is covered by a federal agency's drug and alcohol testing rules — something determined by your employer and the agency that regulates them, not by us. Tell us your job title and who sent you for the test, and we will confirm which collection to perform before you arrive so nothing has to be repeated.
Yes. CMCC is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone and text at (980) 336-9119. Post-accident and reasonable suspicion calls are time-sensitive, so they are prioritized over routine scheduling.
Five ways: call or text (980) 336-9119, email dotcollectorsnc@gmail.com, use the online booking link, walk into the clinic, or send the contact form.
Pricing depends on the collection type, whether it is performed at the clinic or on site, and whether it is part of a program. Call for a quote.
For individuals
Government-issued photo identification, any paperwork you were handed (a test authorization form or a selection notice), and the name of the company or program that should receive the result.
Yes, the clinic accepts walk-ins. If you are working against a deadline, call first so we can make sure a collector is ready when you arrive.
It depends entirely on the program that asked you to test. Some accept a rapid screen; others require laboratory testing. Tell us who sent you and we will confirm which applies before we collect.
Results are routed to the party your program designates — typically the employer or program administrator who requested the test.
Turnaround depends on whether your program uses a rapid screen or laboratory testing. Ask us when you book and we will tell you what to expect.
For employers
Yes. Mobile collection is a core service. Collectors travel to terminals, plants, yards, and jobsites for scheduled collection events, post-accident calls, and reasonable suspicion collections, including nights and weekends.
No. CMCC serves companies of every size with no account minimums and no maximums. A single owner-operator receives the same program design and the same phone number as a national fleet.
Yes. CMCC coordinates collections nationwide through partner facilities near where your people are, with results routed back to the contacts you designate. You keep one point of contact regardless of how spread out the workforce is.
Call (980) 336-9119 directly, any hour. Post-accident testing is time-sensitive, and a mobile collector can be dispatched.
Whether a particular incident calls for a post-accident test is determined by the regulations that apply to you and by your own written policy. If you are unsure, consult the applicable agency or your counsel — we will collect once you decide.
Compliance programs
A consortium pools participants from many companies into one random selection group. CMCC administers the pool, draws selections on the program schedule, notifies you when you are selected, and performs or coordinates the collection.
It matters most to owner-operators and very small carriers, who cannot run a meaningful random program with a one-person pool. See consortium details.
CMCC provides Clearinghouse support: help with registration, understanding the queries a carrier is responsible for, and supporting a designation arrangement where a carrier chooses to use a service agent.
What the Clearinghouse requires of your specific operation is a question for the agency or your counsel. We support the work; we do not determine your obligations.
Yes. CMCC performs return-to-duty and follow-up collections and coordinates scheduling between the Substance Abuse Professional, the employer, and the collection site.
The Substance Abuse Professional directing the process is a separate, independent party. CMCC coordinates the scheduling and performs the collections.
It is an employer program that defines the testing and follow-up an employee agrees to after a non-DOT positive, giving the employer a documented path back to work rather than an automatic termination. CMCC can design and administer the testing side of it.
These agreements carry employment-law implications. CMCC administers the testing side; the agreement itself is between the employer and the employee.
